Let It Hurt

We run away from hurt, because it is a feeling that leaves one moaning in hopelessness, desolation and depression.

Yet, if we never face the pain life causes us we will never grow. A friend recently asked how long is the proper time to waddle in your pain. My answer was simply: as long as it takes. You won’t get over heartbreak in a day. You won’t get over loosing a loved one in three months. You won’t pop back into your “old-self” after your children grow up and leave for college. These are death processes. They come to remind us that in the midst of joy — their is pain and gain. We never walk away from painful experiences without a battle scar. Let your battle scar become your new mark of victory. It’s okay — just let it hurt.
